I was fortunate enough to be asked by Leah and Ruth Black to partake in Gin Palace's first design event "The Shape of Things to come" It took place last weekend on Miller Street. An incredible newly renovated space in central Glasgow.
It was such a nice evening spent sipping Caorunn and tonic ,meeting fellow exhibitors and visitors, thanks to all that came and to friends that showed they're faces on the night.
Im just really excited and really looking forward to working with all the designers in the future events being curated and organised by talented designers Ruth and Leah.
some of my favourite works in the showcase included Lesley Barnes animation's. After seeing her work Im itching to move my own illustration work into motion.Very nice to have met her also.
I was pleased to see new work by Lindsay Grime her new work of ceramic plates are so beautifully illustrated with quirky pop culture references.
Other stand out exhibitors include Gen Ryan's applied illustrated work, her colours are so playful and her detailed pencil illustrations are my faves and they have me so jealous that im not more patient with drawing.
Soizig Carey is another incredibly modest but super talented artist , Siozig works mainly within Jewellery her work often has a narrative and works to concepts of identity and the urban landscape.
Was also pleased to see Joseph Mc Gee exhibiting his garments , i'm hoping he is enjoying his new job in London.
